Some of the suggestions are easier to implement than others. For example, I have added the random link to the Portal icon. Also, it is now possible to filter puzzles by the number of solvers.
The introduction to the Portal I have left out on purpose; I assumed those users experienced enough to customize their own start page would not need them. Maybe I will add some of the default contents later.
The layout of the user-customized panels is a major item on my ToDo list; I was focusing on the contents first. But I think it is reasonable to display some additional information like the creation date and beauty/difficulty ratings (perhaps so that the amount of data can also be customized) - I am planning to work on this in the near future.
