Hello,
this is a summary of the previous announcements in German.
The labels and tags in the Puzzle Portal have been reorganized. It is no longer possible to define new tags. Also, many tags have been removed, in particular in cases of duplication (different spellings etc.) or when they appeared to be otherwise insignificant/superfluous. I apologize for any mistakes that may have occurred while cleaning up the tags.
The list of labels (those with icons) has changed. The idea of the labels is to describe puzzle properties which do not depend on the specific puzzle type. On the other hand, the tags (those without icons) should basically cover the puzzle types and variants in the Portal. The creation page now contains links to a help page with general descriptions of what the labels should be used for.
We ask that the authors check their puzzles in the Portals and in particular the labels/tags, in case there is something to fix. Please do not hesitate do report any bugs or unusual site behavior you might encounter.
One particularly tricky item was about Sudoku variants with dots. There have been several tags in this context, but their usage was so chaotic that I have replaced them all with a generic "Dots" tag as a first step. What we now have in mind are the following tags:
* Kropki: black and white dots, as in the corresponding puzzle type;
* Consecutive: only white dots (for difference 1);
* Ratio: only black dots for ratio 1:2 (I guess it would be ok if another ratio is used, e.g. 1:3);
* Kropki Pairs / Consecutive Pairs / Ratio Pairs: like the above, but without the negative implications, i.e. not all possible dots are given.
There are a few more related tags, like Odd Pairs, XV and XV Pairs, etc. We would appreciate it if the authors could substitute the "Dots" tag with the proper tag, if one of the above applies.
There are some ideas regarding Portal moderation (moderators checking the labels/tags in the future, and perhaps adherence to other Portal guidelines as well). However, this is still under discussion.
Best regards,
Roland
