Within a relay of three puzzles, is the following true?

- The first puzzle has a unique solution independently of the others
- The second puzzle has a unique solution dependent only on the cells transferred from the first puzzle

In other words, no information needs to be sent "backwards" through the relay?

One more question. If a puzzle earlier in the relay is solved incorrectly, but a later puzzle is solved in a way that is consistent with the incorrect solution to the earlier puzzle, is any partial credit available?

Yes, this is correct.

One more question. If a puzzle earlier in the relay is solved incorrectly, but a later puzzle is solved in a way that is consistent with the incorrect solution to the earlier puzzle, is any partial credit available?

No, points are only available for 100% correct puzzles, e.g. with the correct digits transposed.
