Here is a wrap-up of the discussion so far, and some recent thoughts of me.
1) Logic Masters/ Berni installed the puzzle portal about one year ago. As he said earlier, by that time almost all puzzles where very special, in one or other way.
2) Berni noted that lately the portal seems to contain more 'mass-products'. Obviously that has lowered his puzzle-enthusiasm, so he started a thread in the forum about this, to ask what other people think about that.
3) A few people told that they also had less puzzle-enthusiasm lately.
4) I responded also and said that I might hesitate to post a puzzle if already a dozen fresh ones are available.
5) There where reactions about how to organize the portal. With labels, more search functions and other ideas. Those reactions are worked out further in the meantime.
6) I think this is not what Berni intended when he asked his first question. Fundamental is what we as a 'verein' want the portal to be. The content of the portal has changed. That has lead to people who stopped solving puzzles in the portal, which is not good of course. (BTW: I don't think that has much to do with Uwe, as you can read in the thread of Hausigel).
7) For the portal I think it is important to have enough different types of puzzles made by different authors. Every one of them has his/her own style. The portal exists for a year now and contains about 350 puzzles. Of those are 75 from Uwe, placed in two months. That is different than the way the portal was filled earlier. Personally I think that is not good for the variety of the portal. (Especially not when it should go on like this, and in the end the majority of the puzzles should be from him; but I don't know his plans anyway...) I think that is what Berni also meant with his first question.
8) I have nothing personal against Uwe or his puzzles. So far I have solved all of them, except one, and most of them where nice and good to solve. He has new, fresh ideas and interesting openings in some of his puzzles. And of course I am happy with every one who contributes nice puzzles to the portal.
9) First talking before making rules makes sense to me too.
10) To decide: I think it is wise to make a decision first what the meaning of the portal should be: what do we as a 'verein' want it to be? So let's go back to the basic question.
Kind regards, Richard
