Totally lost even with the one in the instrucions, but will definitly try them later.
This puzzle has great solving techniques; symmetry is the biggest clue I think. All blacks are symmetrical and this implies all whites are symmetrical too. If you have a sum in a row that certainly consists of only two digits, you know that the symmetric of this sum is formed of two digits too. And if you have an odd sized grid like 7x7, the middle row/column is symmetrical by the axis so this helps a lot.

Seems to be easy if I look at the points, but I have no idea what to do.
It takes time for getting used to this puzzle. I can't solve them easily either The hints from Calavera are useful though. There should be a center neighbouring each star and the centers are at least 2 cells away from each other.

The possibility to paint white circles black makes it very difficult in my opinion. Generally, I like "What puzzle is it?"-types (if all possible puzzles are given).
The MJ reference is a little bit sarcastic, but I understand that it was too late to change it. At least you can't change black circles into white ones :-)
Two of them were proving themselves not being a type, the others needed deeper analyzing. And the MJ reference, a sad coincidence that he passed away after we mentioned his name just a few days ago. There was no need to change it I think, this happened to be the way we treasured his memory. All we could do was to add a R.I.P. to the reference.
