But if we make both one mistake, is that a tie or the solving time decides? In the last case, it would be very difficult to have a tie in a puzzle.

I doubt that. It won't happen too often, probably not every week, but there will be so many matches that we'll have ties: We have 1440 matches per season in any league, but the probability of a tie is for sure much greater than 1:1440.

And don't forget the possibility, that both players don't solve the puzzle.
