Hi everyone,

Over the past few months, we – the sudokusphere team – have been working together on a new Sudoku website. We were inspired by platforms like SudokuPad, but felt there was still a lot of room for improvement — especially when it comes to design and missing features like a searchable puzzle list. So we decided to build our own site from the ground up.

The site is now nearly finished, and we’d really love to hear your feedback. Here are the main features we’ve implemented so far:
  • Sudoku builder with over 25 rule types: You can create puzzles with a wide range of variants — including Anti-Chess, Arrow, Chevron, Clone, Diagonal, Killer, and many more. Our goal is to make the builder as flexible as possible so that both classic and highly customized logic puzzles are possible.
  • Puzzle analysis tools: You can check how many solutions a puzzle has and, if there are multiple, see which digits are possible in each cell. We’re currently working on a tool that explains solving techniques step by step — great for learning or teaching.
  • Publish your own puzzles: Once you create an account, you can name and publish your own Sudokus and share them with the community.
  • Seamless solving experience: Whether you’re building or playing, you can pause and resume at any time. Your progress is saved automatically — either to your account if you’re logged in, or locally in your browser (without using cookies).
  • Points and leaderboards: You earn points for every puzzle you solve — based on difficulty (measured by average solve time) and other factors. All points count toward a global leaderboard.
  • Searchable puzzle archive: Browse and filter all published puzzles by type, difficulty, estimated solve time, and more — making it easy to find the kinds of puzzles you enjoy most.
  • Puzzle rating system: After solving a puzzle, you can rate it. Over time, this helps create a good overview of which puzzles others have enjoyed.
  • Responsive design: The site is optimized for desktop and iPad use but also runs surprisingly well on mobile.

We’re super curious to hear what you think — about the solving experience, the interface, possible new features, or anything else that catches your eye. Of course, there are still some bugs and unfinished features (yes, a few buttons don’t do anything yet), but we’re constantly working on improvements.

Here are a few issues we’re already aware of:
  • You can load a puzzle you’re currently solving into the builder and get the solution that way.
  • You can solve your own puzzles and get points for them.
  • Some languages are not fully translated yet.
  • Some buttons aren’t properly linked or explained in the “How to Play” section.
  • It hasn’t been tested what happens when you create a puzzle and then delete your account — this might currently cause problems.

Thanks so much for checking it out!
We’re looking forward to your feedback.
