please look out for potential risk - bigger - 15.11.2024

guy, mods, i know you gave up on sudoku tag, but you might want to add a few things on the setters page when they post a puzzle. mainly to avoid getting into trouble from legal problem
yes, I'm talking about posting puzzles to get money or fund. i just happened to click on a Sudoku page today and notice it's advertising for a Sudoku-con that's not WSPC and not happened yet. i study finance so hear me out. if you gather money for a thing that's not happened yet, it's banking from people's trust. and the trust is not only from the fundraiser  but also the platfrom it's on. which means, if this con doesn't happen or something goes wrong, you will also be hold accountable. this means, you guys might be going to deal with legal issue from other country like illegal fundraising.
what I'm asking you guys to do is not check every puzzle for this stuff(i don't think you have enough manpower for this), I'm asking to be at least put some warning in the puzzle posting page to free you from potential risk. i do not have a good feeling about this when i see a 100% rating puzzle have fundraising content. i don't know how often does this happened. but every setter and solver should know that this is not a platfrom for advertisement. do not share your puzzle hoping to get a profit.
also, I'm doing this for myself. you might notice this site is accessible to China. one of the reason is that there's no money business involved. i don't want to be not accessible to this site. just let setter know don't do potentially illegal stuff, either in copyright or finance

Hello bigger, I believe the situation you describe to be covered by our terms of use (which are llnked to at the bottom of every page in the puzzle portal), which basically protects us from individual user's actions that we aren't aware of.

However, as you now made us aware, please send me a PN containing the puzzle ID and the author/username in question, so that the matter can looked into in detail.

Thanks, good to know you have terms for that. take my advice, just tell your members it's their own risk going to a convention that's not related to you guys. there are many things that should be taken into consideration with off line convention.  i only happen to notice one.
