RE: WPF Sudoku Grand Prix - Questions and Answers - Ours brun - 12.02.2013 Hi, After a quick reading I have one remark, about puzzle 11 (X-Summen Sudoku): either my english is worse than I thought, or it isn't said explicitely that clues correspond to the sum of the first X digits in the considered direction. Of course this is quite obvious to deduce but making the sentence more clear might avoid some confusion. Indeed the first X digits are meant. Yours, Richard RE: WPF Sudoku Grand Prix - Questions and Answers - uvo - 12.02.2013 (12.02.2013, 16:31)Ours brun schrieb: Hi, I agree - the intention is clear, the rules are not. How about this: The numbers outside the grid represent the sum of the first X digits in the respective row or column, with X being the digit in the first cell of that row or column. Now looking forward to see what Richard has prepared us! One question that was suggested to me: will there be exactly 16 sudokus to solve, or do we have to expect several puzzles for some types (in particular Standard sudoku)? Thanks again, Bastien RE: WPF Sudoku Grand Prix - Questions and Answers - Realshaggy - 13.02.2013 The rules of No. 5 seem to be clear, but I still find the term "Kropki" a little bit irritating in this case. Imho a puzzle shouldn't be named after a standard, if it doesn't use its full set of rules. But I also think "4er Außensummen Diagonalsudoku mit schwarzen Pünktchen" is not a good name either RE: WPF Sudoku Grand Prix - Questions and Answers - uvo - 13.02.2013 (13.02.2013, 14:17)Ours brun schrieb: One question that was suggested to me: will there be exactly 16 sudokus to solve, or do we have to expect several puzzles for some types (in particular Standard sudoku)? There are 6 standard sudokus and 15 variants, one of each. The points for each puzzle will be published soon. RE: WPF Sudoku Grand Prix - Questions and Answers - uvo - 15.02.2013 Both the contest page and the WPF page have an updated version of the booklet, including points for each puzzle. I think the contest is open on 23rd and 24th of february CET, which is one hour difference with GMT. Maybe it is a good idea to write which time-zone is the actual one, to avoid disappointments. |
