Can somebody explain how the "system" calculates the penalites?
I understand that If I submit a solution late and I have more penalty points than the points given by the puzzle, the last answer will be ignored.
I have submitted a solution late and I have now verified that it is wrong (
) - will I have the -5 points for the wrong puzzle AND the time penalty? or will the last solution simply be ignored?Stefano

If you would have gained an advantage in case the solution is right, the system will accept the answer normally, and distribute the points as usual. It doesnt take the burden of you to check the correctness of your solutions. So yes, you will unfortunately get both penalties.

If the puzzle is worth more points than the penalty, your solution will be accepted, irrespective of whether it is correct or not. If it is indeed correct, fine - you get the puzzle points minus time penalty, improving your score. However, if it is not correct, you might indeed end up with -5 for a wrong solution and -x time penalty; otherwise risk-free guesses might be possible, for example in the cross-word puzzle.
In short: Whenever a correct solution would improve your score, an incorrect solution will yield -5 and (if it's late) a time penalty.

Ich könnte mir durchaus vorstellen, dass sich da die meisten einig sind, dass man an der Uhr drehen sollte. Nur die Richtung könnte unterschiedlich sein.
