Wäre das eine SVS? It is for sure a good variant! On my list, but already above #416, so it may take a while.

This type was in this year's WSC, and it was called Positional X-Sums. I made a practise puzzle for my team mates that was on the hard side (as practice puzzle ), so it's perfect as SVS.Funny that I found your puzzle as well a few days ago. Best regards, Richard RE: Continuing of SVS - help asked for a list of fresh variants - glum_hippo - 02.03.2025 It occurs to me that you might enjoy ‘Top Heavy Parity Sudoku’ as well. Wherever two digits of the same Parity are vertically adjacent, the upper digit is larger than the lower one. This was used in the German Sudoku Championship 2022 Examples: https://tinyurl.com/2pdx4y4k https://tinyurl.com/428ukzxd RE: Continuing of SVS - help asked for a list of fresh variants - Nylimb - 18.03.2025 In 2023 I published 5 sudoku puzzles with the "mountain" rule. Most were hybrids with other rules, but these 2 just used the mountain rule: https://logic-masters.de/Raetselportal/Raetsel/zeigen.php?id=000D0H https://logic-masters.de/Raetselportal/Raetsel/zeigen.php?id=000D6O RE: Continuing of SVS - help asked for a list of fresh variants - glum_hippo - 10.07.2025 Sorry to keep coming back here with piecemeal suggestions. I thought you might be entertained by my 'XY-Cages' rule set. https://logic-masters.de/Raetselportal/Raetsel/zeigen.php?id=0009SF I know you already have a considerable backlog of ideas now, and have no expectation that you'll use this any time soon, if at all. Just sharing for the fun of it! Apologies if it's already on your radar. Currently I have a small stock (up to SVS #438) and was just about to check this forum post once more to add ideas to my list for the variants after that. So it is on my list, but have to solve it myself first.
RE: Continuing of SVS - help asked for a list of fresh variants - fuxia - 05.08.2025 Heya! Not long ago I published a pure Double Arrows Sudoku: https://logic-masters.de/Raetselportal/Raetsel/zeigen.php?id=000NU1 Would love to see your take on the rule. Here is his base puzzle with only using this constraint: Vaults RE: Continuing of SVS - help asked for a list of fresh variants - AstralSky - 23.10.2025 Hello Richard happy to see you're back! It wasn't recently that I was scanning through your SVS series did I find this post. I'm enthusiastic about sudoku variants too. And I hadn't really been active in variant sudoku setting in the past years as well. Below are some sudoku variants that I created in the past. There were different versions with A, B or C digit being given) https://logic-masters.de/Raetselportal/Raetsel/zeigen.php?id=000CQN Self-Exclusion (Though in my original puzzle killer cages and little killers are used, but that was for making the board cluless. It can be used with only killer cage or little killer with or without givens to function as a standalone constraint as well) https://logic-masters.de/Raetselportal/Raetsel/zeigen.php?id=000BMR |
