OAPContest: FAQ
#2
Hier meine FAQ zum example document - answered by yureklis
? "the + sign used in separating puzzles and ..." : I don't understand separating, The plus in the Examples always means the puzzle scores, I think four different scores for four different puzzles of same kind.
In the contest file there are four puzzles of each type, all in one page. They're separated with a huge plus in the page. Also the scores of these puzzles are given at the corner of the page, again separated with a plus. The scores given in circles in the example file are the scores of the four puzzles in that type.

? the duration of each contest is 150 min: starting at a common fixed starting time, or individually at everybodies first access?
The contests will always start at a fixed time and last for 150 minutes. We do not use the method you mention, in order to avoid multiple registries.

? 1-4 Tapa: answer for example must be 23355 because of two 1x5 blocks in left column and bottom row, or ask you only for row areas?
The answer format needs clarification I see. It should be "the unpainted area blocks without numbers". That gives one 1x2 and two 1x3 areas.

? 9-12.Tetroscope: You use tetrominoes in puzzle description but use octominoes in examples! are these octominoes two tetrominoes that can be split (but must not) ?
my suggestion : Add comment in brackets: (in example: octominoes)
The example is just using the capitals of our names, I think people will get this, the puzzle will consist of regular tetrominoes.

? 17-20. Sigma Snake: ... only of numbers (as written in word list) in any order. This is not clear: order of the number words or order of the letters [reflexiver Bezug auf/nach einem Zusatz in Klammern!?] (I'm sure, You mean the first, but in Germany we like Word Zig Zag with turned and twisted word letters)
Saying that they should be "as written in the word list" avoids this. "In any order" doesn't refer to the words, it refers to "numbers may be in any order".

? 29-32. Quicksort: can a square with a number be blackened ? I will say no ! but its possible (according to text) or ...
Of course not.

? 37-40. Tank: what's about cells with numbers or with only the top cell of a tank in the middle of a row/col with another number? do they count or intersect the range of vision? (I asked this, cause in Tapa, number cells intersect)
Each number indicate the total amount of tank cells it sees, no matter this pieces belong to one or more tanks. In the example, the cell D5 is counted both by the 2 and 5.

? 41. Consecutive Phantom: you don't mention: rest cells must be blackened! is it so?
Some cells may be blackened, if you cannot fill the whole grid, you can sacrifice some cells. You can say "every cell which is not filled with a number should be blackened" if necessary.
Zugegeben: doll war's nicht, aber die beiden fetten Aussagen waren wichtig.
