Puzzles with publicly available solutions - JustinTucker - 29.07.2024
I made the following observation (only a gut feeling, nothing is provable): If there are two comparable puzzles with comparable difficulty but the first one has a publicly available solution, the second doesn't, the first one will get higher solver numbers. By publicly available I mean youtube videos or digital versions of the puzzle which allow for solution checking even after the first digit is entered. Would it be a good idea to lable those puzzles to make solver numbers better comparable? RE: Puzzles with publicly available solutions - Joe Average - 29.07.2024
Why does the solver number even matter, and what do you gain by comparing them? I'll pick quality over quantity any day. If I happen upon some really nice puzzles, I'll look for more puzzles by that author, or I check some puzzles that friends with a similar taste as me have recommended to me. |
