Feedback Wanted on New Sudoku Mechanic - jackisaacbryan - 05.08.2020
Hello solvers!
I had an idea for a new mechanic in which numbers had to be set distances from one another. For instance, all the 4s would have to be four cells from another 4.
I've managed to put this mechanic in to a sudoku which I've posted on Logic Masters, but due to the high number of puzzles being shared at the moment I'm worried it will go unsolved. I poured my heart in to setting this, and agonized over the solve path, so would really appreciate any feedback on the puzzle!
It involves pentomino placing, path finding, and the mechanic I described above.

As you have said, there is a large number of puzzles at the moment and as such not all puzzles are getting the attention they deserve. Regarding this particular puzzle, I'm personally not a great fan of pentomino + sudoku so it's not really for me, but I was the person who tried your previous puzzle which used your new mechanic (I recall it had two solutions? Did you manage to fix it?).
It's quite similar to the existing taxicab rule so maybe it would work to advertise it under a taxicab variant or something like that in order to catch the eye of people who enjoy taxicab rules?
If you are keen on getting lots of solves and feedback I would suggest looking up the Cracking the Cryptic discord channel. I don't post my puzzles there personally but they supposedly have thousands of members and areas for feedback so I expect traffic on your puzzle could be far higher there?

Hi Greg, I knew I recognised your username! Thank you for trying the previous puzzle, which was my first attempt at the mechanic. When I saw your comment I immediately deactivated it and spent a couple of days working through it to fix the unresolvence issue, and try and make the rules more consistent as your feedback was that the previous puzzle could be solved almost entirely as a killer sudoku. Thank you for your feedback on that one, this puzzle is a direct result of it.
I've not heard of the taxicab rule so I will look in to it. I am a big fan of the Cracking the Cryptic channel on youtube, so I will have a look at their discord channel now, that's an excellent idea. Thanks!
