WPC 2020 - CHalb - 19.12.2019
Wie schon in Kirchheim bekanntgegeben, finden WSC und WPC 2020 in Shanghai, also in China, statt. Der zunächst von Mittwoch bis Mittwoch angepeilte Zeitraum ist inzwischen auf einen üblicheren Rahmen von Samstag bis Samstag geändert worden. Letzte Woche ist uns von der WPF als Termin der
3. bis 10. Oktober 2020
genannt worden. Dabei ist die Raum- und Preisgestaltung noch etwas unklar. Es sind uns mehrere Beträge gemeldet worden, die bei Zahlung bis 30. Juni in folgenden Bereichen liegen:
WSC: 300 € bis 340 €
WPC: 400 € bis 440 €
WSC+WPC: 550 € bis 590 €
Erhöhungen bei späteren Zahlungen sind vorgesehen. Als Einzelzimmerzuschlag sind 40% angesetzt. Weitere Details zu den Anmeldemodalitäten liegen uns noch nicht vor.

Die WPF weist auf ihrer Webseite und auch in der Email an uns darauf hin, dass sie sich Änderungen angesichts des Corona-Virus vorbehalten: Plans have been set for Shanghai 2020 and the dates and other details are on the website, but the board is watching the corona virus situation carefully and we will make an announcement if anything needs to be changed.

Die WPF hat uns heute über ihre Entscheidung informiert, dass die WPC und die WSC 2020 verschoben werden. Ein neuer Termin ist noch nicht bekannt. Hier der Originaltext aus der Email von Prasanna:
In light of the worldwide coronavirus pandemic, the WPF board has decided -- in consultation with Haijun Zhang -- to postpone this year's planned WSPC in Shanghai, China.
As the duration of the pandemic is uncertain, and as most WPF members can't make any travel plans now, everyone agrees that postponement, while regrettable, is necessary.
We wanted to make this announcement as soon as possible, so you can plan accordingly.

Eine weiteres offizielles Statement der WPF zu den kommenden WPCs und WSCs aus ihrem letzten Quaterly Report:
The WPF has reached a decision on the 2020 Championships. The decision is that the Championships have been postponed. We do not know more details as of now as the 2020 organizers as well as the (newly approved as reported below) 2021 organizers are exploring different options for future events. All options are currently on the table except cancellation of China’s and Canada’s opportunities to host.
